25 Things

So, I don't really want to get on the bandwagon, BUT I wanted to do a 25 things survey type thing. So here it goes........

1). Whenever people draw me (cartoon style) I really do look like a Grandma.

2). Knitting is super fun as well as other crafts (jewelry making, and sewing).

3). I love getting letters and writing them.

4). Duvets are a smart idea, and I respect that idea.

5). I spend more money on sheets than normal people.

6). I used to not keep a lot of pictures around, but ever since college I like them there. They also convince people that I actually have friends.

7).I like Sudoku and word puzzles- to fit the asian stereotype..... I also like Ninetendo 64

8). 80s Music is really awesome.

9). London is my favorite place

10). Grace (my sister) is my best friend and will be forever (hopefully we won't pull an Angela from the Office)

11). I have my own handwriting style which consists of print and a variation of cursive.

12). Cheese is super good (cheese parties)

13). I think trashy shows are great. They make the time pass and after you watch them you feel better about yourself & your intelligence (Aka NEVER put Cayenne Pepper in your eye)

14). Evelyn Waugh's Vile Bodies is my favorite book right now.

15). I like to read children's book.

16). I like to collect books

17). I have a mini Christmas tree that I bought from the dollar section at Target. They (two sprouted trees in one pot) haven't been named yet. Therefore, give me some ideas in the comment box.

18). Even though I really didn't like the Harrison artistic part, I really liked the friends that I made.

19). The Office is one of the best shows ever written

20). I'd die without my iPod............ and phone for that matter.

21). I have a very strong urge to be right all the time.

22). I wish I was more motivated

23). Laughing really hard feels so good.

24). When it turns 11:25 am/pm I always say it's my birthday (November (11th month) 25th- my birthday)

25). Ooh, I feel like the last one should have a big impact. I try to exfoliate my hands everyday- ooh that was a very serious topic.

Jan 24, 2009

Ha, let me just make a clarification. The blog title of Jan 12th was written in 2009, not in 2008 like it says. Oops

Well, Hello readers! Today is kind of a gloomy day in Savannah. It's rainy and I'm said because I only had 2 days for a weekend vs. the 3 day weekend. But anyway, I came down to Lakeland for a little break. MLK was a blessing and a curse. We had to make up the school day that was given to us for the holiday- therefore, 2 day weekend. Anyway, I took a break from all my work and went to the Dali museum with Alex and Kathryn. I was so glad I went. I got SO much inspiration for my spaghetti project. SO much.

I had an Art History test yesterday. I think I got either a B or an A. FLVS "APAH" was definetely a good move on my part. I dont even think I have to read the book for my class. The tests are easy. And the teacher goes over all the works we need to know on the handout AND tells the topic for the 50 point long essay.

As for color theory, still haven't made any friends in there. Maybe I just won't. I need to concentrate on that stupid class.

I'm glad that my movie choice was such a hit. I didn't think my movie recomendations would take off. Hopefully you liked the movie!

So I'm kind of a secret fan of Metro Station. I loved that song "Shake It" and now I'm currently listening to Seventeen Forever..... on repeat.

Oh if you like podcasts, you should listen to this really great one. Called How Stuff Works. They have a website with lots of essays and i think a tv show. Also if you like books on tape, iTunes has free audiobook from certain podcasts. I've listened to a couple of books that way.

We (my roommates and friend) looked at a house for next year. I'm not totally sold on the idea of living off campus. But we'll see.

Sorry it's been a long time since my last post.

Jan 12, 2008

Wow, I realized I haven't blogged in quite sometime.

As you know school has started. I'm back in Savvy for my second quarter. My schedule is
Monday/Wednesdays
3D design (9-10:30 a.m.)
Survey of Western Art I ( 2-4:30 p.m.)

Tuesday/ Thursdays
Color Theory (5-7:30 p.m.)

3D - probably my favorite class, NO, it is my favorite class. Right now we're making linear structures (made out of spaghetti) that need to hole 25 lbs (or more) for 5 seconds (or more). I'm making a ring box for the base w/ a tower(required to support the weight). A huge diamond ring will be wrapped around the tower. The ring will be in a sort of surreal sense. My teacher wanted me to break out of the mold of something traditional; and so he recommended my ring look as if Salvatore Dali (cough, GARC!) would've made it.

As for Art History we're in the Egyptian chapter. Ehh, I already know the material and luckily for me the class curriculm only goes to right before the Renaissance- which is right about the time in my online art history class that I started slacking. But oh my, I almost fell asleep about 15 times today in class.

Color theory- Gahhh, I hate it. I just absoultely loathe this class, right now we've just been mixing colors and making color wheels and color strips.

Well to recap, my last days at home were alright. The night at Gosh, and bfast at Alex's (with eggs made the right way) made the transition a little bit harder.

I had one bad dat where I missed Grace a lot. My misery was triggered becuase she emailed me a link of a video she made with her Australian friend. Anyway, just listening to her voice reminded me of the good times we had together.

On a more positive note, I'm coming home for a bitty break. I have a four-day weekend-thanks to MLK.

P.S. I'm still knitting, but not as much as I would like to/ or did over the break

Also, I saw (rented) a movie this weekend. It was by the same guy who made Pan's Labrynith. It was super good. Kind of cliche as far as horror goes, but really smart story line.

2009!!!!

Well 2008 was really great! I graduated this year and made the big grand trip off to college. I had a lot of fun this year, if I may follow suit (by robert's blog) I will make a little list of the great things that happened.

Graduated
College
actually making friends in college
having my artwork up on "the wall"
bonding with friends back home, you know who you are
Started knitting- for real this time
Office nights with the club
making my own money
.... yeah that is pretty much all i could come up with.

Ok well anyway, I'm going back to SCAD for quarter 2. I had a nice long much needed break, but I'm ready to be busy again. As Lorel might say "it is bittersweet." I really bonded with the club during the break and I'll be sad about leaving them, but I'm also glad about going back to school.

Well I'll tell you about my New Year's Eve night. It started at about 9 at Kathryn's house. We played many rounds of "Around the World" ping pong style. We then ate a little bit. Played doubles. Watched "the e-lite and the masters" play. The ball dropped, we drank fake champagne. Danced a bit. Ran around the back yard and took pictures. Did a conga line. And ended the night with some rockband. It was a great way to spend the last night of 2008.
